A Little Bit About Me
Hallo and thanks for stopping by! I'm Manchester-raised and now live in Cheshire. I’m a GP and I really enjoy my work for all the corny reasons you might expect. Being a GP is roughly half of my career ambition. I’m also developing an online health education startup. My aspiration is to have a broad impact on how people engage with their health, nationally and internationally.

My spare time is really important to me. Top priority is spending time with my friends and family. I’m lucky that my family is close and close by! So we get to hang out often. Friends is a little harder because of distance and work, but I see my mates as much as possible. We’re mostly chilling, catching up and jabbering over food, and we’ll head out to films, shows and exhibitions if opportunity permits.

I enjoy reading, currently Sapiens, which is super-long and thoroughly thought-provoking. Oh and How the World Works by Noam Chomsky, but that is interesting and revealing in a much more depressing way, so I can only stand to read about two pages at a time! Otherwise I’m into sci-fi a la Asimov and Card, that’s sci-fi, not fantasy! Oh, except Terry Pratchett ;) Is Granny Weatherwax a strange literary hero to have?!

I love music and am constantly on the hunt for new genres and artists. Think C2C’s Tetra, Deluxe’s Polishing Peanuts, Gramatik’s SB3, and Kasabian’s latest if you want an idea of where my head is right now. I know about two thirds of those titles read like made-up and random words smushed together.

I play guitar, and am passionate about creating my own music on an array of gear which is frequently - heart-achingly (!) - neglected until I get some time to blow the dust off and dive back in. We’re talking beats and melodies by the way, I do not sing!

I also like / need a bit of chilling with my favourite shows in the evenings. All time favourites include Black Books, Star Trek, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones (except how it ended seriously what the what?!), Magicians, and currently Elementary. Who knew Lucy Liu could be a Watson?!
